Dear Contributors,
We have three important logistical updates.
- First, we have some more info on the Charlottesville workshop on August 11 and 12.
Please take a moment to fill out THIS SURVEY to let us know your plans for the workshop. Please try to do so ASAP, and no later than June 5.
This will allow us to confirm hotel room blocks; if we’re uncertain about rooms after June 5, we risk not having enough space or losing our deposits, which will reduce the amount we can spend on subsidies.
Travel information is on the webpage here. Please feel free to book your flights now. We will issue reimbursements up to the amounts below shortly after the workshop in August. We are also working with our travel office to allow you to book through them; we’ll send more info about that very shortly.
- The workshop will take place on August 11-12, at the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville.
- It will take run roughly 9am-6pm EDT (6am-3pm Pacific U.S. / 3pm-12 midnight European / 9pm-6am Hong Kong / 11pm-8am Sydney) both days.
- We encourage everyone who’s able to attend in person. The U.S. borders are currently open to all travelers, provided you are vaccinated and provide a negative COVID test. For those for whom travel is impossible, we will have a remote option.
- We’re offering the following funding:
- ROUND-TRIP AIR TRAVEL & TRANSPORTATION TO/FROM AIRPORT (**one subsidy per chapter**):
- From United States/Canada: up to $400
- From Europe, or South/Central America: up to $960
- From Asia, Oceania, or Africa (including the Middle East): up to $1,600
- LODGING & MEALS (**ALL in-person participants**):
- 3 nights lodging in Charlottesville (August 10, 11, 12; more nights can be reserved if paid by participant)
- Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner on August 11 and 12
- ROUND-TRIP AIR TRAVEL & TRANSPORTATION TO/FROM AIRPORT (**one subsidy per chapter**):
- Second, please remember that your draft chapters are due by June 30. Please upload a version to the webpage here.
- Third and finally, the OUP style guide containing other instructions for authors is here.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions.
Best,
Kevin, Stella, and Jill
